Mind Games
FAQ'S

WHO SHOULD TAKE A MIND GAMES CLASS?

Mind Games is designed to support all grade levels, kindergarten through 5th, by allowing each child to excel at his/her own aptitude and pace. This is accomplished through relevant and group oriented activities. This format has been found to not only improve your child's academic performance but also provide hands-on skill and knowledge development.

WHY SHOULD MY CHILD TAKE MIND GAMES?

Mind Games will enrich your child's education in all areas of the curriculum and open the door to a world of learning through play.  Playing board games help teach basic social skills such as verbal communication, sharing, patience, taking turns and enjoying interaction with others. Board games can foster the ability to focus and lengthen your child's attention span while improving cognitive processing speed, memory skills, critical thinking skills and sensory integration in all subject areas.

WHEN WILL CLASSES BE HELD?

Classes are one hour long, on school campus, immediately after school dismissal.  For class times and dates for your school, please visit the Registration  Page.  Please note that we follow the school calendar.  For those days where early dismissal is at 11:30am, some classes may be held immediately after dismissal, from 11:30am-12:30pm.  CHECK CALENDAR TO CONFIRM.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR THE FIRST CLASS?

SEND A NOTE - Prior to the first day of class, we suggest sending a note to your child's homeroom teacher and aftercare director (if applicable) notifying them that your child will be taking weekly classes with Mind Games.  This ensures that your child gets sent to the correct room for class. While we provide the office and aftercare with up-to-date rosters of everyone in our classes, it's good for your child's regular teacher to know where to send your child after school is dismissed.

HOW DOES MY CHILD GET HOME FROM MIND GAMES?

When filling out the registration form, you will choose from one of the following three options:  AFTERCARE:  Your child will be escorted to aftercare by the Mind Games teacher.  PARENT PICK-UP:  Your child will be escorted by the Mind Games teacher to a designated carline pickup area at the end of the class and will stay with your student until they are picked up. You or an authorized family member will pick up your child at the designated area.  WALKER/BIKE RIDER:  Your child will be released by the Mind Games teacher to go home.  **PLEASE NOTE** There will be no crossing guard on duty at this time.
